Yes. Signing up and browsing are free. You only pay for what you reserve.
No. Bestby Bites works in any web browser today. iOS and Android apps are coming soon.
A bag of good food a local store didn't sell that day, priced at 50–75% off its usual value. Contents change daily, so the exact items are a surprise.
No. It depends on what's left. The store describes what a typical bag includes.
Because contents vary, we can't guarantee a bag is free of any allergen. Check the store's dietary tags and always ask staff at pickup.
An item from a store's weekly flyer that you can reserve on Bestby Bites. You pick the exact item and quantity, and you pay at the counter when you collect it.
Flyer Deals are each store's weekly sale prices, often up to 20% off the regular price. Every deal shows the exact saving before you reserve.
Until the store closes on your pickup day. Checkout shows the exact window before you reserve — today if the store is still open, otherwise the next day it opens. After that, it goes back on the shelf.
Yes. If they're from the same store, they share one pickup and one pickup code.
By card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) through Stripe, with your Bestby Bites wallet, or at pickup where the store offers it. Flyer Deals are always paid at pickup.
Yes. You can cancel free of charge in My Orders until 2 hours before your pickup window starts, and always within 30 minutes of placing the order. After that, the order is locked because the store has already set your food aside. Wallet payments are refunded to your Bestby Bites wallet instantly. Card payments are refunded to the card you used, usually within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. Cash on Pickup orders are never charged, so no refund is needed.
No. You pay the deal price plus applicable taxes, shown in full before you confirm.
Surplus food is good food that didn't sell. Every store is a food business that must follow provincial and local food safety rules, and a best-before date is about freshness and quality, not safety. Always check your food at pickup. If something is wrong, report it within 24 hours of your scheduled pickup time and we will review it with the store.

Register free at merchant.bestbybites.com, add store details and upload your business registration and tax registration number, if applicable. Most reviews take 2–4 business hours.
No setup or monthly fees. We take a 10% commission only on orders customers place through Bestby Bites — Surprise Bags and Flyer Deals alike. Orders paid at your counter are billed on a weekly statement, every Tuesday. What customers pay online is yours to withdraw any time once your business is verified.
